Exotic Tameable Mounts

This page lists all of the exotic tameable mounts available within the world and where to find them. Please note that most of these mounts are on fairly lengthy respawn timers and some of them are in difficult to reach areas that will take both patience and help from your fellow players to tame. Some are much easier to find and tame than others and all will be shrinkable by the in game hitching post. The racial and skill requirements required to ride these mounts has been lifted as well, so all players can enjoy them.

Please note that many of the 2-control slot mounts found in this list have been brought in line as what we refer to as "Nightmare equivalents." The goal here is that the Nightmare pet serves as our standard for what a two-slot pet should be in terms of combat capabilities. The following pets found in this page are considered to be Nightmare equivalents and more will be added to this list in the future: Nightmare, Dread Warhorse, Unicorn, Ki-rin, Fire Steed, and Reptalon. The Lesser Hiryu will likely join the Nightmare equivalent list in the near future as well.

Also, in the depths of Despise and Destard you will find another special mount that is not considered to be exotic but is very useful: bug beetles. These are tuned to be 85% Nightmare equivalents. They were added to the game originally as a part of our Bug Rewards program, where players who contribute to bringing in game issues and improvement ideas to the team are rewarded for helping us to build a community with strong values and integrity. These reward items come in special hues, and are the same as bug beetles found in Despise and Destard for combat capabilities. These bugs are very useful for tamers because they require 102.1 taming to tame, which gives tamers a nice 2-slot units that can be used to skill up on towards higher levels of animal taming.

Hued Mount Drops

Hued Mounts

  Farmable Mounts In All Dungeons

All the exotics found below have a 0.1% chance to reward players with a special hued version of the mount when the creature is slain. The item to summon the mount will be directly placed in the backpack of a random player that has looting rights to the creature. Also note that the Bane Dragon drop rate of this item is 0.01% due to the increased spawn rate and availability of this particular exotic mount. This drop chance only applies to exotics found within the primary seven Felucca dungeons available in the game that you will find featured in this article. Note that Dragon Barding will still work with a paragon Swamp Dragon without the Dragon losing its color, and also note that the regular versions of these mounts must be tamed, and Paragon creatures are not tameable.

Check out this page for a full list of mount hues and the month they can drop!

Below is a list of dungeons and the exotic tameable mounts that can be found there:

Despise

Giant Beetle

  Giant Beetle

These beetles are very useful since they function like a pack llama or packhorse but can serve as a mount as well. You can find them deep in the depths of Despise guarded by Poison Elementals.

Respawn timer: 1-3 hours.

Cu Sidhe

  Cu Sidhe

The Cu Sidhe can serve as excellent mounts that have the ability to self-heal and can be found guarded by a horde of Ogre Lords in the deepest levels of Despise. They are ridable by humans in UO Singularity without special equipment.

Respawn timer: 1-3 hours.

Deceit

Fire Beetle

  Fire Beetle

These beetles are very useful since they are a walking portable forge. They can be found in the fire pits of Deceit guarded by powerful Lich Lords, it may be wise to bring a friend for capturing these.

Respawn timer: 1-3 hours.

Dread Warhorse

  Dread Warhorse

The Dread Warhorse can also be found in the deepest level of Deceit in the back of the Lich Lord crypt room. Bringing a friend would be very helpful to accomplish the task of taming these.

Respawn timer: 1-3 hours.

Destard

Lesser Hiryu

  Lesser Hiryu

These can be found deep in the Shadow Wyrm caverns in the lower floors of Destard. The surrounding area is sprawling with Shadow Wyms, Wyverns and Drakes, so be careful hunting these. Note that there are no skill requirements to ride these in UO Singularity.

Respawn timer: 1-3 hours.

Reptalon

  Reptalon

These can be found on the first floor of Destard in the Ice Wyrm and White Wyrm dwellings. This area is quite difficult and a significant effort may be required to tame these beasts. While powerful to deal with in combat, after taming their stats are significantly reduced and typically only useful as a mount.

Respawn timer: 1-3 hours.

Hythloth

Unicorn

  Unicorn

These can be found in a room of Hythloth accessible only by a secret teleporter. This room has very powerful Daemons in it guarding the Unicorns that spawn there and also note that the Daemons are hostile to the Unicorns, so you need to be very alert to tame these. This makes them the most difficult to tame unit in the game. Note that Unicorns can be tamed and rode by either gender in the UO Singularity world.

Respawn timer: 1-3 hours.

Ki-Rin

  Ki-Rin

These can be found in a room on the lower levels of Hythloth where they are guarded by Daemons and Balrons. This isn't as difficult as the Unicorn to tame but they are hostile to the enemies guarding them which means you need to act quick once they have spawned. Note that Ki-Rins can be tamed and rode by either gender in the UO Singularity world.

Respawn timer: 1-3 hours.

Shame

Fire Steed

  Fire Steed

These mares can be found in a room that is densely packed with Blood Elementals on the lowest levels of Shame.

Respawn timer: 1-3 hours.

Swamp Dragon

  Swamp Dragon

These can be found on the lowest levels of Shame in an area that spawns Acid and Poison Elementals near the water.

Respawn timer: 1-3 hours.

Covetous

Ridgeback

  Ridgeback

This is the easiest to find and tame exotic mount available although the respawn timer is quite long. They can be found in a room near the exit on the first floor of Covetous.

Respawn timer: 1-3 hours.

Nightmare

  Nightmare

This is the most difficult to tame creature in the UO Singularity world at the time of this writing, with a taming requirement of 115.1. He is deep in the depths of covetous and guarded by a Balron and an Ancient Lich.

Respawn timer: 1-3 hours.

Wrong

Bane Dragon

  Bane Dragon

While these are not the easiest to best in battle, they are the only exotic mount that can be farmed easily since they have a very short respawn timer. They can be found on the second floor of Wrong surrounded by Juka-Lords.

The second very special thing about these creatures is that they can be equipped with player crafted Dragon Barding, which is unique to the UO Singularity world. Also, unlike Swamp Dragons, the Bane Dragon will keep its original Hue when barded.

Respawn timer: 2-3 minutes.
